Mark is an HCPC-registered healthcare professional and the founder of Elite Precision Aesthetics in Halesowen. With a background in surgery and orthopaedics, he brings operating theatre standards to advanced aesthetic treatments, with a philosophy built on precision, shared decision-making, and individualised treatment planning. He is a CosmediCheck verified practitioner.
How did you first get into your industry?
My route into aesthetics has been slightly different from the traditional pathway. My background is in surgery and orthopaedics, and I work as an HCPC-registered healthcare professional with extensive experience in the operating theatre and advanced surgical practice.
Through that career I developed a real interest in anatomy, precision, procedural skills and, importantly, the responsibility that comes with performing treatments on patients. Aesthetics is a natural extension of those skills.
I undertook formal aesthetics training at DRA Academy and have continued to invest heavily in developing my knowledge and practical skills through further advanced training.
That ultimately led to the creation of Elite Precision Aesthetics, with the aim of bringing the standards and principles I am accustomed to within surgical practice into the aesthetics environment.
For me, aesthetics isn’t simply about performing an injection or a treatment. It is about consultation, anatomy, appropriate patient selection, consent, infection prevention, recognising complications and having the knowledge, systems and procedures in place to manage them appropriately.
What's your favourite thing about working in the industry?
Without question, it is seeing the difference a relatively small treatment can make to someone’s confidence and making people smile.
Good aesthetics shouldn’t necessarily be about dramatically changing the way somebody looks. Often, the treatments I enjoy most are the ones where somebody looks in the mirror afterwards and simply feels better about themselves.
I particularly enjoy developing an individual treatment plan rather than approaching every client in the same way. Everyone has different anatomy, concerns and expectations, so the consultation and assessment are just as important to me as performing the procedure itself.
I also love the technical side of aesthetics. My surgical background means anatomy, precision and procedural technique are things I naturally enjoy, so being able to combine those skills with something that can genuinely improve someone’s confidence is incredibly rewarding.
For me, aesthetics isn’t simply about performing an injection or a treatment. It is about consultation, anatomy, appropriate patient selection, and having the systems in place to manage the unexpected.
What's your favourite treatment to perform, and why?
My favourite treatment is quite simply the right treatment for the individual client. I don’t believe in having a favourite procedure or approaching aesthetics with the idea that one particular treatment is right for everyone. Every client comes to me with different concerns, different anatomy and, most importantly, different goals and aspirations.
For me, the most rewarding part is understanding what a client wants to achieve and then, through shared decision-making, creating an individual treatment pathway that works towards those goals safely and realistically.
Sometimes that might involve a relatively small, subtle treatment. At other times, the best results may come from combining different approaches - perhaps dermal fillers , anti-wrinkle treatments, skin boosters, microneedling or regenerative treatments — and building those treatments gradually over time.
Ultimately, my favourite treatment is the one that is right for that person. I don’t want clients to come to Elite Precision Aesthetics simply asking for a particular procedure; I want us to have a conversation about what they would like to achieve and work together to determine the most appropriate way of getting there.
That individualised approach is central to what we do at Elite Precision Aesthetics. The goal isn’t to change who somebody is or make everyone look the same. It’s to use the right combination of treatments, where appropriate, to help our clients achieve their goals and ultimately feel better in their own skin.
Why did you choose to get verified with CosmediCheck?
For me, becoming verified with CosmediCheck was about accountability.
The aesthetics industry is moving towards greater regulation, and I believe practitioners who take patient safety and professional standards seriously should welcome that direction.
It is very easy for any clinic or practitioner to say that they are qualified, insured and operating safely. I wanted Elite Precision Aesthetics to be prepared to go one step further and allow an independent organisation to actually scrutinise the evidence behind those claims.
CosmediCheck reviewed areas including my training and qualifications, insurance, policies and procedures, clinical waste and sharps arrangements, and the suitability of the environment in which I treat clients.
I think that independent scrutiny is extremely valuable.
Coming from a healthcare and surgical background, I am accustomed to governance, documentation, protocols and professional accountability. I don’t believe aesthetics should be treated differently simply because much of the work takes place outside a hospital.
Clients deserve to know that the practitioner they choose isn’t only prepared for when everything goes perfectly. They should also have confidence that appropriate procedures, insurance, training and systems are in place should something unexpected happen.
That is why becoming a CosmediCheck verified member was important to me. It provides independent reassurance that the standards we talk about at Elite Precision Aesthetics aren’t simply marketing claims - we have been prepared to have those standards examined.
Ultimately, I want clients walking into Elite Precision Aesthetics to feel confident that they are entering a professional clinical environment where their safety comes first.
I am extremely proud to have achieved CosmediCheck verification, and I see it as another important step in continuing to develop Elite Precision Aesthetics as a safe, responsible and reputable aesthetics practice.
