CosmediCheck Standards

Your Safety. Our Priority.

We uphold the highest level of professionalism, safety, and ethical practice. Our strict standards apply to all professionals and businesses within our network.

Every CosmediCheck member must follow a core set of mandatory standards designed to ensure consistently safe, high-quality cosmetic treatments. Becoming a CosmediCheck professional means agreeing to, understanding, and consistently applying these principles in every interaction and service provided.

The Mandatory Standards

Insurance Documentation

You must provide and maintain full insurance documentation covering all treatments and procedures. This includes public liability and professional indemnity insurance at all times, and you must notify us of any changes or updates to the policy.

Accredited Qualifications

You must provide recognised and accredited qualifications for all treatments and services offered. Every service must be fully covered and valid under your insurance policies.

Legitimate Business and Premises

You must provide evidence of a legitimate business and premises. This includes valid business registration, proof of address, and photographic imagery of the workspace.

Permits and Licensing

You are required to obtain and maintain all necessary permits, licences, and governing body registrations specific to your sector, such as local council tattoo permits.

Health and Safety Compliance

It is your duty to conform to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all industry-specific regulations at all times.

Pre-treatment Consultations

Every client must receive a thorough assessment tailored to their individual requirements before any treatment. This should include a full assessment of their medical history, needs, and expectations.

Service Optimisation

You must provide advice and treatments tailored to each individual's needs while maintaining up-to-date client records for every service completed.

Genuine Reviews

All feedback must be obtained from genuine clients who have completed a treatment. Falsifying or incentivising reviews is strictly prohibited and may lead to account removal.

Ongoing Vetting

Members must agree to initial and ongoing comprehensive business checks to verify credentials, regulatory compliance, and professional conduct.

Business Updates

It is your responsibility to inform CosmediCheck of any relevant changes to the business, such as new services, changes in name or address, or insolvency.

Prompt Complaint Handling

Any concerns or complaints raised by a client must be addressed promptly following the official CosmediCheck concerns process.

Membership Understanding

Members must acknowledge that CosmediCheck is a platform to help clients find reputable businesses, but the platform is not legally responsible for the treatments or interactions themselves.

Regulated Products

You must only use regulated, licensed, and MHRA-approved products sourced from reputable suppliers. These must be used strictly in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

Clinical Facility Standards

Facilities must be clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety protocols. Mobile services are only permitted if they are specifically documented and covered by your insurance policy.

Informed Consent

Clients must fully understand their treatment options before giving consent. Explicit consent is also required for any photographic imagery used for marketing purposes.

Accurate Imagery

Treatment imagery must not be doctored or edited to enhance results. Misleading clients with edited "before and after" photos is a breach of our standards.

Risk Communication

You must explain all potential risks, side effects, and aftercare processes to the client to assist with minimising complications.

Transparent Pricing

You must provide clear pricing, including any upfront costs, deposits, or third-party payment fees.

Client Confidentiality

You must protect client information in compliance with GDPR and ensure discretion in all communications.

Emergency Protocols

You must have relevant protocols in place, including first aid and anaphylaxis training, to deal with emergency situations.

Hygiene Standards

You must adhere to industry cleanliness standards, including the use of single-use sterile equipment and following COSHH assessments for hazardous substances.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Appropriate PPE, such as nitrile gloves and masks, must be used to uphold infection control standards.

Working Parameters

You must work strictly within the parameters of your permits, licensing, and insurance at all times.

Clinical Waste Disposal

You must follow strict protocols for the disposal of clinical waste and sharps. Needles and syringes are strictly single-use and must never be reused.

Professional Conduct

Members are expected to maintain a high standard of professional conduct and should not engage in defamatory or disrespectful commentary about others in the sector.

Emotional Wellbeing

You must assess that a client is physically, mentally, and emotionally of sound mind before proceeding with a service.

Ongoing Development

Practitioners should commit to ongoing training and personal development to ensure their knowledge remains current.

Prescription Only Medicine (POM)

All prescription-only medications must comply with UK regulations and can only be administered after the correct legal processes are followed.

Compliance Agreement

Failure to comply with these standards will result in a full review of your membership and may lead to account termination or reports to relevant authorities.

Professionalism in Every Interaction

We expect all professionals affiliated with CosmediCheck to maintain a high standard of conduct. This includes treating colleagues and clients with respect, maintaining professional integrity, and upholding all best practice protocols. A professional attitude reflects a commitment to quality care and positive relationships.

Feedback and Reviews: Real Voices

We encourage clients and professionals to request and leave honest feedback. Genuine reviews help others find trusted providers, offer insights for improvement, and build strong reputations through accountability.

Verification and Vetting: Trusted Professionals Only

All professionals must undergo a complete third-party vetting process. This involves providing valid documents, ensuring their authenticity can be confirmed by the provider, and granting GDPR consent for verification. If a document provider cannot confirm your records, it remains your responsibility to obtain that verification. Incomplete vetting will result in the refusal of account approval.

Concerns: CosmediCheck Ltd is not legally responsible for any treatments or procedures carried out by a member. Interactions are strictly between the professional and the client. For more information, please visit our official Concerns Page.
