How did you first get into your industry?

My journey into aesthetics began seven years ago, following a 16-year career working on the frontline within the NHS. Having experienced aesthetic treatments myself for several years, I started to notice a decline in standards across parts of the industry and found myself thinking, “This isn’t the level of care I would provide within my own workplace.”

That sparked my curiosity. I spent several years researching, learning and exploring the aesthetics industry before making the decision to train professionally. From the very beginning, my motivation was never about creating overfilled or unrealistic results. It was, and still is, about confidence.

A large part of that passion comes from my personal life. My brother was born with a cleft lip and palate, so throughout my life I’ve witnessed the surgical interventions, treatments and challenges he has faced. As we’ve both grown older, I’ve also seen how subtle aesthetic enhancements can complement previous reconstructive work and help improve confidence.

That experience gave me a unique perspective on appearance, self-esteem and the positive impact that carefully considered treatments can have on someone’s life.

For me, there is no greater privilege than helping a patient feel more confident, comfortable and happy when they look in the mirror. That’s what continues to drive me every day.

What's your favourite thing about working in the industry?

There are so many things I love about working within the aesthetics industry, but above all, it’s the ability to boost people’s confidence.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a patient look in the mirror and genuinely smile. Whether it’s improving their skin, restoring lost confidence or helping them feel more comfortable in themselves, seeing the positive impact that can have on their everyday life is incredibly fulfilling.

For me, aesthetics has always been about helping people feel like the best version of themselves, rather than changing who they are.

Another aspect of the industry that I love is the sense of community. Aesthetics is a predominantly female-led industry, and I have been fortunate to meet some incredibly supportive, inspiring and talented women throughout my journey.

Running a business can sometimes feel isolating, so having that connection with other business owners who understand the challenges, celebrate the wins and support one another is something I truly value.

For me, there is no greater privilege than helping a patient feel more confident, comfortable and happy when they look in the mirror.

What's your favourite treatment to perform, and why?

This is always a difficult question because every treatment I offer in clinic is there for a reason. I only introduce treatments, technologies and products that I am genuinely passionate about. Before offering anything to my patients, I spend a significant amount of time researching it, understanding the science behind it, meeting with the brands where possible and ensuring their ethics align with my own clinic values.

I always ask myself one key question: how does this benefit my patients in the long term?

If I had to choose one area that I’m most passionate about, it would be skin rejuvenation. For me, aesthetics has never been about changing how somebody looks or creating an exaggerated appearance. It’s about helping people feel confident in their own skin. I love treatments that improve skin health, restore radiance and help patients look refreshed whilst still looking completely like themselves.

What I particularly love about working with skin is that once you achieve those improvements in skin quality, they can be maintained. Healthy skin is something that benefits patients for years to come, and the confidence that comes from feeling comfortable without makeup or feeling proud of your skin is incredibly powerful.

There is no better feeling than seeing a patient regain confidence in themselves, and that’s why skin rejuvenation will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s not about transformation; it’s about helping people become the most confident version of themselves.

Why did you choose to get verified with CosmediCheck?

One of the main reasons I chose to become verified with CosmediCheck is because I am passionate about raising standards within the aesthetics industry.

At present, the UK aesthetics sector remains largely under-regulated, with no single mandatory standard governing who can practise and to what level. As a healthcare professional, patient safety has always been at the heart of everything I do, so I believe any initiative that works towards improving transparency, accountability and industry standards is a positive step forward.

What I particularly admire about CosmediCheck is their commitment to helping establish greater professional standards within the industry. By verifying practitioners, they provide patients with an additional level of reassurance that their chosen practitioner has undergone independent checks and is committed to practising safely and ethically. Ultimately, this benefits everyone. It helps patients make more informed decisions about who they trust with their treatments, whilst also supporting reputable practitioners who are committed to maintaining high standards of care.

For me, verification was a natural choice because it aligns with my own clinic values of safety, professionalism, education and putting patient welfare first at all times.

Additional Information

Alongside running my clinic, I work closely with some of the most respected names within the aesthetics industry, including Fox Pharma and Med FX. I am also becoming a Key Opinion Leader for CMED, a role that allows me to contribute further to education, innovation and best practice within aesthetics.

Education has always been one of my greatest passions. Throughout my career, both within the NHS and aesthetics, I have taught and mentored hundreds of students, from those taking their very first steps into the industry through to advanced practitioners looking to further develop their skills.

I have also been honoured to sit as a panel member for industry awards and have been recognised as a finalist in several aesthetics awards over recent years.
