Transformed Academy, Cardiff

CosmediCheck Verified

Nickalea is an aesthetics practitioner and trainer based in Cardiff, running Transformed Academy. Her journey into aesthetics began from a background in beauty therapy and hairdressing, and she’s built her practice around ethics, safe practice and natural enhancement. She is a CosmediCheck verified practitioner.

How did you first get into your industry?

By accident, really. I was working alongside a partner who kept letting clients down -taking money and not turning up for appointments. I was already a qualified beautician and hairdresser, and I thought I can’t keep having these issues making my business look bad.

So I decided to train in aesthetics, and from there I became a trainer after three years. I thought I’m going to run with this - and now I have a successful business. I found that my ethics, morals and safe practice brought my clients to me.

What's your favourite thing about working in the industry?

Making my clients confident in their own skin, by enhancing their natural beauty.

At Transformed we reflect their image, but empower our clients’ identity.

My ethics, morals and safe practice brought my clients to me.

What's your favourite treatment to perform, and why?

That’s a hard question! I love everything, but I’ve definitely found my new niche with the 'Precision lift' procedures.

The results can make a real difference for clients on areas they’re not happy with. Even though it takes time to see the end results, they’re outstanding.

Nickalea is also the founder of the WBA Awards in Cardiff - Wales’s first dedicated beauty and aesthetics awards ceremony. She has won several industry awards herself and is passionate about putting Welsh practitioners on the map.
