How did you first get into your industry?
I first went into microneedling training 15 years ago - it was rather new to our industry then. I immediately got the hit for aesthetics and I knew it was the direction I needed to follow. I was a semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) artist at the time.
I put everything into climbing through the industry and all its challenges, especially being a non-medic - for all you old school injectors, you will completely know where I’m coming from. There was no hate or scare mongering then, as social media wasn’t our main platform, but it was all very new territory.
Now, with all the hard-faced determination alongside many hours of self-doubt and long hours, I’ve built a successful business.
What's your favourite thing about working in the industry?
The people. The relationships I have with such wonderful individuals, and to see them let their vulnerability show and trust me to treat them, is empowering and rewarding. I love using my artistic craft to help people.
And the community of practitioners is a million miles away from what it was when I began. It’s a family now - we all build one another up.

What's your favourite treatment to perform, and why?
This is a hard question as I couldn’t choose just one, but my top three would be chin augmentation, anti-wrinkle treatments, and face lifting with threads and dermal fillers.
The change from such a small amount of dermal filler and anti-wrinkle treatment in a chin augmentation can be remarkable - it’s the undetected beauty of facial balancing. It’s completely missed when clients are trying to find harmony with their appearance, and it’s often the one big game changer, when done correctly.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are undervalued for their ability and diversity of uses. As an advanced practitioner, I get to enjoy all they have to offer, and it’s a real level up for my clients.
And face lifting with threads and dermal fillers - to see those immediate results and the client’s reaction is priceless.
