Every Face Is Different

How did you first get into your industry?

I originally came from a healthcare background, but I’ve always had a real interest in beauty, aesthetics and making people feel more confident in themselves. I started my aesthetics journey by training in foundational treatments and quickly realised I wanted to take it much further.

I’ve built Faces by LL from the ground up, continually investing in advanced training, developing my own techniques and refining my work over the years. What started as something I was passionate about has grown into a business and career that I’m incredibly proud of.

What's your favourite thing about working in the industry?

For me, it’s seeing the difference a treatment can make to someone’s confidence. I really enjoy looking at the face as a whole rather than focusing on one individual area.

Sometimes the treatment somebody initially thinks they need isn’t necessarily what will give them the result they’re looking for. I love being able to assess the whole face, look at the proportions, structure and balance, and create a treatment plan around the individual.

I also love that aesthetics is constantly evolving. There is always something new to learn, and I don’t think you ever reach a point where you should stop developing, learning and refining your work as a practitioner.

What's your favourite treatment to perform, and why?

I genuinely couldn’t choose between lips and full face treatments because I love them both for completely different reasons.

Lips will always have a special place for me. I love how technical they are and how much difference the right technique can make. Every set of lips is completely different, so I really enjoy adapting my approach to the individual anatomy and creating something specifically for that client.

But I also absolutely love full face treatments. That could be a younger client wanting more structure, definition and balance, or an older client where we’re looking at restoring areas of volume loss, rejuvenating the face and bringing back some of that freshness and confidence.

For me, both are about looking at what is actually in front of me rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Seeing somebody look in the mirror afterwards and seeing that confidence come back is probably the best part.

Safety, transparency and accountability are incredibly important to me and to the way I run Faces by LL.

There is so much information online now that it can be difficult for clients to know who is appropriately trained, insured and practising safely.
